Our Pastor
Dear Sisters and Brothers in Christ,
Greetings to all in Troy and Libby. May peace be with you from our Lord Jesus Christ! We look forward to join you in the great northwest.
Let me introduce the love of my life, my wife of 35 years Vicki, my son, Karl, who has just graduated from Highwood HS and will be attending Western at Dillon in the fall, and my daughter, Lauren, who will be a sophomore and has just received her driving permit. We have spent the last 11 years in Belt and look forward to our move into the mountains.
Vicki and I were both raised on farms in Illinois about 90 miles south of Lake Michigan and near the Indiana state line. We moved to Bozeman in the summer of 1977 and I graduated from MSU in ’81 from the School of Business. In the fall of ’93 we moved back to Illinois to care for my parents and rejoined the United Methodist Church, which I had joined in ’68 when the EUB church I belonged to joined together to form the UMC we have today. It was during this time in 94-97 that my pastor in Reddick, IL encouraged me to discern my call to ministry. I began the process of a certified candidate and went to licensing school at Illinois Wesleyan University, Bloomington, Illinois. Both of my parents passed away during this time and Lauren was born in Illinois. We returned to Bozeman in ’97. I was appointed as a licensed local pastor in June 99 to Belt.
I attended Course of Study at Claremont School of Theology in California and was ordained a Deacon in Billings in 2008. I look forward to sharing my journey on this walk with Jesus, as we walk together in the coming days. Know that I love Jesus and I love you.
