Troy Basic Needs Store
The Troy United Methodist Administrative Counsel voted to expand the Church’s ministry to the community by starting and maintaining an outreach to the low income and disadvantaged of the area. This outreach program is entitled
“Troy Basic Needs.” This service is needed to provide necessary items of hygiene, home cleanliness, diapers, etc. as these items are not covered under the food stamp program. This is not a government funded or grant program this is our own ministry funded and supported and operated by US. It will be open one morning a week, on the first, third, and fourth Wednesdays,from 9:30-12:00
As we begin this outreach ministry what we need from you is:
1. volunteer for one morning on a rotation basis. How often will depend on the number of volunteers
2. donations of NEW products; a list will available soon of what is needed
3. MOST certainly money for the start up.
The following list is some of the items that we need.
Diapers, Baby powder, lotion, shampoo, Q Tips, Band-Aids, Cotton balls, Tooth paste, Tooth brushes, Razors, Deodorant, Shampoo, Soap, Peroxide, Rubbing alcohol, Hand lotion, Women's products, Dish soap, Laundry soap, Toilet paper, paper towels, Scour power, Pine Sol cleaner, Simple Green, Light bulbs.
Additional information will announced as we proceed to establish this ministry.
